Freedom of the Press

My trip to Africa ended early this week. It feels like a million years ago.

I joined a Freedom Forum delegation that was, among other things, promoting press freedom and open societies in places where such things have not been the rule in modern times. I spoke about the Internet at several of these sessions, noting its essential qualities and value to journalists — and people who need information.

Here’s an account of one of the sessions, as related by the forum’s staff.
