On the Road Today

I’m heading to the European Technology Roundtable, where I’m moderating several discussions, one on decentralization and the other on Web services. Several panelists have canceled since Sept. 11 but the conference still looks worthwhile.

Rome is a great, great city. But Italy has a bozo for a prime minister.

Silvio Berlusconi was caught bragging about Western civilization’s “superiority” to Islam, a remark for which he has expressed regret — not that I believe he’s a bit sorry. He’s blaming the “leftist press” but he has a long record of arrogant behavior.

Updates may be somewhat infrequent during the next few days depending on connectivity.
