San Francisco Chronicle: Security flaw makes Wireless networks vulnerable. The problem affects a technology known as 802.11, or Wi-Fi, a technology
standard that is the foundation for a growing number of wireless local-area
networks in homes, offices, schools and, recently, public places such as
airport lounges and even Starbucks coffee shops.
I think I’m going to put away my 802.11 wireless card for the time being. It’s just too insecure for my taste.
The industry selling these things is transparently unconcerned about its customers’ privacy and security. Until that changes, consider all of your computing on these networks public information.
