Looks like the feds aren’t going to listen to reason in the case of Russian programmer Dmitry Sklyarov. The Electronic
Frontier Foundation met with the U.S. Attorney’s people in San Francisco, but found “no indication” that the Justice Department would drop the case.
“Having explored good faith negotiations, the Electronic
Frontier Foundation rejoins the call for nonviolent
protests worldwide to secure the immediate release
of Dmitry Sklyarov and drop all criminal charges against
him,” says the EFF in a press release.
One protest will take place in San Francisco at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 30. It’s at the Federal Courthouse
at 450 Golden Gate Ave. THe EFF says there will be other July 30th protests in Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, and
Minneapolis, with more to come.
