In Finland, Inventing the Mobile Future

I stopped in Finland for a couple of days on a recent European trip. As I anticipated, I was impressed by what I saw and heard.

The Finns are doing fascinating things with telecommunications, and have been for years. In 1997, on my first trip there, I discovered the most wired (and mobile) society on the planet. That hasn’t changed.

This time, I had the good fortune to hook up with Marko Ahtisaari, who is deeply connected inside the local telecom scene. He introduced me to others, and I learned a great deal.

More in my Sunday column.
