Cutting Ties to Monopolists

When I declared independence from Microsoft a couple of weeks ago, the idea was to do my part to reduce the power of an unrepentant monopolist. I discovered that lots of other folks want to do the same.

It got me thinking. Microsoft isn’t the only company that wants to control our lives. We need to triangulate and make decisions that, in some cases, will cause inconvenience in our daily lives, if we’re going to counter the domineering nature of the new robber barons.
