UCITA, “Uniform Computer Information Transactions Act,” is the computer industry’s best attempt to turn consumer law on its head. It tilts the balance grossly in favor of the seller and against the customer.
It was looking like UCITA wouldn’t go much further than its passage in Maryland and Virginia, but the industry isn’t giving up on this — and I’m sorry to see that the legislation seems to be making progress again.
