Above is a restful garden area inside the residence where I’m staying at the University of Hong Kong . I’ll be based here for the next five weeks, teaching a graduate seminar at the university’s Journalism and Media Studies Centre and reporting on tech issues and events in the region
The pollution is as bad as ever in this striking city. I took this photo of the harbor from the university, which site midway up the mountain from the waterfront. Even on a Sunday, there’s a layer of smog.
Human Beings and Technology
I’ve been thinking more about the Pop!Tech conference I attended last weekend in Maine. It’s one of the few technology-related events where humanity plays a role, apart from being a customer base.
More in my Sunday column.
