Joel Klein, who has headed Justice Department antitrust efforts for the past several years, is leaving government service at the end of the month. He’s done, on balance, a first-rate job.

Apple and Amazon

Salon: Apple’s “1-click” deal leaves a sour taste. By accepting the “1-click” patent as valid, Apple has for all practical purposes closed the debate about the patent’s very legitimacy.

I disagree. This patent is no more legit than it was the day it was issued.

I’m still not shopping at Amazon. That’s my own little protest of the company’s continuing brazenness on this and other matters.
