This is a test of the Stowaway keyboard for the HP Journada handheld computer and a wireless modem hooked up to my mobile phone. Now I will post this.
It wasn’t elegant, and it was slow. But it worked. Now I can file stories for this eJournal without carrying anything that doesn’t fit into my pockets. Another milestone in working on the road…
I should mention that it took three days of phone calls to get the mobile phone/modem combination working. And the Journada (or Microsoft’s PocketPC, nee Windows CE, software) doesn’t recognize the USB connection on my desktop computer, and doesn’t connect through any port on my new IBM notebook machine.
It will be wonderful when technology vendors make things work properly out of the box.
