In an appearance at Novell’s San Jose campus on Friday, President Clinton had some strong words to say about the need for privacy online. This was good news, because his administration has been leading the charge on behalf of law enforcement and corporate America in the other direction.

Clinton also spoke passionately about the need to bridge the so-called Digital Divide. Moore’s Law seems to be taking care of the hardware piece of this puzzle, but making sure people are connected is another piece, as Mercury News columnist Mike Cassidy notes in a posting from Arizona.
