The Week That Was

What a week! AOL Time Warner; Gates gives Ballmer the CEO post; the government leaks someone’s wish to break up Microsoft; IBM goes Linux in a big way; and more.

I try to connect some of these dots in my Sunday column.

Here are some links to which I referred in my column, several of which are courtesy of Andrew Schulman:

Where Winter Isn’t Optional

I’m in Vermont this weekend, visiting close friends, on my way to New Hampshire today. There hasn’t been much snow or cold weather so far this season — at least until I arrived.

I lived in this climate for three decades, but California has softened me up. When I left the airport terminal the other evening I thought the cold was going freeze my face.

You will never catch me complaining about the weather in the Bay Area.
