Unusually Sane Encryption Decision

Network Associates says it has gotten a federal go-ahead to export its PGP encryption software. Let’s hope this decision also will extend soon to the freeware version of PGP.

Meanwhile, several members of the U.S. House of Representatives were critical of the Clinton administration’s latest encryption proposals. Proposed regulations, they said, were useful overall but didn’t go far enough.
